About Paul
Paul Christian Rogers was born and raised in Sligo, Ireland and his theatrical passion and love for the cinema started from a very young age, as he first began acting at the age of 12 with local drama groups. This included a national tour of 'The Steward of Christendom' for which Paul received an Adjudicators Award as well as a nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
Paul then began his performance training whilst on the BA (Hons) Humanities course in Carlow. In 2009, Paul joined the Drama Society at NUI Galway, and with a talented community of emerging writers and directors, began collaborating on new film and theatre projects, adaptations and classic plays.
In 2011 Paul moved to London to begin a years training in MA Acting at East 15, and graduated with Merit in 2012. This culminated in the showcase at the Criterion, with Paul’s scene being well received by critics saying he has 'the comic timing under control and squeezes every ounce of humour from the situation.' His first role out of drama school was in Carl Heap's adaptation of a 'Pilgrims Progress' at The Yard Theatre, playing many eccentric characters, with the production receiving Time Out's 'pick of the month'. Paul also appeared in Immersion Theatre's 'Dorothy in Oz' (Waterloo East) a dark retelling of the classic tale, with Paul featuring as the re-imagined Tinman, a pierced biker suffering from anger issues., also in White Desert's 'The Taming of the Shrew' (London Welsh Centre) as a highly neurotic Hortensio. Most recently Paul appeared in Lazarus Theatres 'The Merchant of Venice' as Antonio. The producton receieved 5-star reviews as well as being nominated for 2 Offies Awards. As well as a strong knowledge and experience of theatre Paul has also worked in film with names such as Jonathan Firth, Robert Knights, Phillip Rashleigh, Rob Savage and James Webber.
Upon graduation, along with six other East 15 graduates, Paul formed 'That Sneaky Octopus', a new film and theatre company. Their first stage production, titled 'True Life' looked at the issues of video-game addiction. T
